Platfusul produce afecțiuni ale coloanei vertebrale
Principala cauză - rahitismul
Boala piciorului plat apare în cele mai multe dintre cazuri la copiii care suferă de rahitism. De aceea, controlul medical se va face atât de către medicul ortoped, cât și de pediatru.
"Boala nu este pe atât de gravă pe cât sunt repercursiunile în cazul în care nu este tratată, mai ales în perioada de creștere. Piciorul plat poate apărea datorită unei insuficiențe musculoligamentare, adică laxitate ligamentară dar și în cadrul rahitismului, tulburărilor de creștere sau congenital. Este foarte important ca primul pas să constea în tratarea rahitismului pentru a evita complicațiile create de această boală, iar ulterior să se treacă la corecția piciorului.
Dacă nu este congenitală, malformația apare între opt luni și 2 ani și se poate observa după modul cum calcă și cum merge copilul. Medicul va lua "amprenta" piciorului care este cunoscută sub denumirea medicală de planto-gramă și va pune diagnosticul exact.
Un alt motiv pentru care trebuie pus un diagnostic corect este acela de a nu se confunda cu piciorul strâmb, care este o deformație a piciorului apărută la naștere și care afectează practic forma acestuia ", explică dr. Gherghina Rizea, medic specialist pediatru în cadrul Centrului Medical Rizea din Constanța.
Semnele platfusului sunt:
- diminuarea sau absența bolții plantare longitudinale;
- lățirea amprentei plantare;
- mersul predominant pe partea internă a tălpii;
- culoarea violacee a piciorului;
- glezne umflate, mai ales la femei;
- transpirații abundente și reci ale tălpii;
- eventuala asociere a monturilor care reprezintă cazuri foarte rare.
În ce constă tratamentul?
Tratamentul platfusului se decide în funcție de vârsta copilului, de cât de gravă este forma bolii de către un chirurg-ortoped.
"Cu cât se începe corecția mai devreme, cu atât rezultatele sunt mai bune. Dacă medicul nu recomandă încălțămintea specială pentru platfus, mămicile pot procura niște mici tălpi artificiale care se numesc talonete și care se pun pe talpa încălțărilor pentru corecție.
Pentru a ajuta piciorul să capete forma naturală se mai recomandă și masajul tălpilor pentru a antrena dezvoltarea mușchilor. În orice caz, pentru copiii cu probleme de această natură nu se recomandă altfel de încălțări decât ghetuțele care să mențină picioarele într-o poziție adecvată. Un sfat pentru acele mămici care nu își permit să cumpere încălțăminte specială, pot inversa pur și simplu încălțările de la un picior la celălalt", completează dr. Gherghina Rizea.
